A quarter of mums with young children take on ‘side hustles’ to fund childcare costs, research has revealed. 

The study shows 25% of mums with children under the age of five say they have taken on extra work just to help cover the increased cost of childcare.

The data, from digital staffing platform Indeed Flex, also shows that nearly a third of mums with young kids now spend more than 40% of their salary on professional childcare.
